Explore Art & Beauty at the Library
This week, come and enjoy the cultural offerings on display in the main room of the Library.  Participants in one of our more popular programs, Coloring for Adults, have posted their masterpieces by the large windows.  There's something for everyone in this charming and whimsical exhibit.  If you've ever dreamed about creating something beautiful in a supportive and relaxing environment, please join Rebecca Burgan and friends at the next session in the Edgewater Room.  We provide all the supplies, you just need to bring an open mind and have some fun!

On Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco docent Ellen Harden will be presenting on the current Legion of Honor exhibit, Truth and Beauty: The Pre-Raphaelites and the Old Masters. Be sure to pick up your free museum ticket from the reference desk.  Docent programs and musuem tickets are made possible through the efforts of the Friends of the Sausalito Library--their bookstore boasts hundreds of lovely art books perfect for your collection.

Truth and Beauty: The Pre-
Raphaelites and the Old Masters

THIS WEEK--Thursday, July 19
2:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers

Please join Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco docent Ellen Harden as she explores the first major exhibition to juxtapose examples by the Pre-

Raphaelite Brotherhood with works that inspired its members, including Italian old masters Fra Angelico and Pietro Perugino and their Northern contemporaries Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling. This Legion of Honor exhibit (running June 30, 2018 – September 30, 2018) reveals how the Brotherhood’s aesthetic evolved over time to embrace artistic influences from the High and late Renaissance, such as Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, and Veronese.

Marin Master Gardener Series
The Secret Lives of Bees
Thursday, August 30
7:00 p.m. inside the Library

One out of every three bites we eat can be attributed to the work of bees.  In your own home garden, attracting bees will maximize flower,
fruit, and vegetable production. It's easy to turn your garden into a pollinator paradise. Just think like a bee and follow the easy steps presented at this informative seminar presented by James Campbell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30. James has been a Master Gardener since 2010 and a beekeeper since 2008. This program is part of a series of talks by Master Gardeners presented by the Library and Sausalito Beautiful, in conjunction with the University of California Cooperative Extension Marin Master Gardeners.
