The grass is always greener….
 

Most of us would complete the statement above with “on the other side of the fence.”
We are learning it is greener on God’s right path.
We have been back in the U.S. for a month and a half now.  We have been praying and seeking counsel from many different sources.  We have wanted to let God speak to you our supporters and to our own hearts, minds, and souls. In our last newsletter, we shared that we were at a cross road and we needed to turn right or left in life.

• America is the land of opportunity. This past month, we have sat in the lush, green, woods of the mountains of East Tennessee. There was the sound of a creek flowing. We loved it. We have loved seeing family and friends.
• Tsumkwe, Namibia is a hot, dry land in the Kalahari Desert. It is thirsty for the seasonal rains that cause the desert to green for just a few months of the year. Life is hard in SO many ways.

Psalm 23 says, “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.”
Since leaving the coast of Kenya, the LORD has made us lie down, He has led us to quiet waters, and He has refreshed our souls. He has done this both in Africa and America. We believe He is guiding us along the right path for HIS name’s sake. In a recent devotional there was an excerpt from C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity, “In the same way the Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christs. If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the Bible itself, are simply a waste of time.” Our call has not changed through everything we have experienced in the past 3 years. And the San Bushmen remain on our hearts. It is for HIS name’s sake we are called to draw men into Christ. For us, those men and women are the little people of the Kalahari Desert.
Psalm 23 continues with, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
We are confident that the LORD is with us. We feel the LORD wants us to return to Tsumkwe. There are all kinds of details that need to be worked out before we can return to Tsumkwe. We will be in conversation with AIM leadership in the coming weeks to start working out these details. We will send out another newsletter soon with these details of what needs to happen before we can return to Namibia. We want to visit with you our current supporters. We also need to expand our support team because our support level is still low. It is the Lord who has prepared this table for us and His goodness and love will follow us every day. Thank you for continuing to walk with us to reach the unreached of Africa.
