Jesus-looking People

Sunday's Gathering invited us, as a Jesus-looking People, to imagine Open Door as an economy, with an invitation to invest and trust in the abundance of God's kingdom.

Three invitations into practice from the teaching:

(1) Ground yourself in God’s economy.
“God, I believe in your abundance.”
“God, I trust in the inheritance of your grace.”
(2) Invest holistically in the economy that is Open Door (with your time, talents, gifts, treasures, skills, etc.).
(3) Find one way to disrupt the economic
“lane of traffic” you’re in.

August 5 PLAY Gathering

Backyard BBQ, Potluck, & Pool!

For our August PLAY Gathering, we'll Gather at the Amelis in Pleasant Hill from 4:30-6:30PM for a Backyard BBQ/Potluck and celebration of a baby dedication!

(NOTE: This is instead of our previously planned beach day - we will not meet at St. Paul's OR Alameda Beach on August 5!)

Invite friends & bring something to grill and a side to share!

August 11 Beach & Bonfire

celebrate & bless our Thrive Kids

Join us for a Beach Day & Bonfire at Muir Beach as we gather around our Thrive Kids (OD Kids 7 and up) and their families to celebrate our kids as they head back to school. (Thrive Families, RSVP and let us know you're coming!)

While we'll take time specifically to bless the Thrive Kids, all of Open Door is invited to join us for part or all of this time together!

Project Peace

Aug 25 Day of Service

Quarterly, we join Project Peace East Bay in their Day of Service which connects faith communities to service organizations in our area

On August 25, we invite Open Door to join one of two projects at local schools (both projects are family-friendly):

Oakland International HS (Oakland)

My name is Brooke Arnett
I live in North Concord with my husband, toddler, dog, and baby on the way!
My work involves being a wife, mom, friend, follower of Jesus, and more!
For fun, I like to cook, bake, explore, design and decorate spaces and events, watch TV, and snuggle with my family at night
One question I'm asking about myself or the world is: How can I love and serve others well in a time of life that feels self focused and short on the and energy?
