We spent this past weekend in Long Beach, CA for Midsummer Scream 2018, the annual Summer Halloween convention. Here are some of the highlights!

Members of the cast and crew of the Disney cult classic Hocus Pocus were on hand to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film with a special panel at Midsummer Scream and we captured some of the most interesting facts.

Newly Discovered Vendors from Midsummer Scream!

The Midsummer Scream show floor is a great place to find vendors selling Halloween and horror related wares. Ahead of this year's convention, I shared 10 of my favorite artists that were attending, but here are some new vendors we met and whose work we enjoyed during this year's convention:

It Doesn't Get Much More Halloween Than This...

This year's Midsummer Scream had more vendors, haunts, and panels than ever and while I loved every minute of it, the highlight of my weekend came in an off moment just browsing the show floor.  As I walked past the kids' area of the show floor I discovered Kimberly J. Brown, the actress who played Marnie in the Disney Channel Halloweentown movies, reading the book she co-authored, Poppin's Pumpkin Patch Parade to a group of kids.  Brown was sitting cross-legged on the stage next to a jack-o-lantern and wearing a witches hat as she read and it was one of those #allthefeels moments that completely embodied the spirit of Halloween.  The Halloweentown movies have been a household favorite over the years and the moment I captured was pure Halloween magic and the highlight of the event.

Midsummer Scream will return to the Long Beach Convention Center on August 3rd and 4th, 2019 and you can be sure All Hallows Geek will be there.
