To God be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.
Dear pastors, donors and prayer supporters,

I am excited this month to tell you about a new program, new courses, new professors and a new Director of Student Services.

Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies
Over the last few semesters we have been encouraged to notice in our classes a lot of students who are not pursuing a degree per se, but are taking courses for their own personal knowledge and growth. Therefore, starting this fall we are offering a Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies. It’s a 30-credit program that is for anyone who desires to sharpen their own biblical and theological acumen through exposure to various learning methods. You can read about all of our degrees here. Anyone interested can apply here to get started.

New Courses This Fall
In addition to this new program, we are also excited to offer three new courses for the very first time this fall:
  • Old Testament Prophetic Books—This course will focus on Isaiah through Malachi; essential for any seminary education.
  • History of Philosophy—This is an oft-overlooked yet crucial topic of study for anyone in ministry. I’m thrilled we can run it for the first time.
  • Counseling—This course is also open to pastors to audit for free. If you’re a pastor, or know a pastor who might be interested, simply indicate so in an email to our Director of Student Services at info@indysem.org.
Rounding out our fall offerings are Greek I and God & Scripture (ST I). Simply follow the links to learn about any course.  This fall marks our largest set of offerings; please pray for our administrative staff as we organize all this!

New Professors
Teaching these courses this fall we have three new professors!
  • Dr. Kris Holroyd recently finished his dissertation on the book of Jeremiah and now serves as the Senior Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian in Muncie. He will teach OT Prophetic Books.
  • Dr. Jim Spiegel has nearly 100 publications(!) on philosophy, religion, and ethics. I can’t wait to get him into the classroom with our students! He’ll teach the History of Philosophy course.
  • And Rev. Jeff Nottingham has nearly a decade of counseling experience and currently oversees New Hope Counseling out of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. We are privileged to have someone with his experience teaching our Counseling course.
Please read more about all our professors here.

Director of Student Services
Last, but not least, it is also a great step forward for us in that, with the hire of Bruce Winter (see last month’s newsletter), Cheryl will be able to focus all her attention on students. Her new role will be the Director of Student Services. As students apply, as they go through their program, and as they graduate, Cheryl will be there to help them every step of the way. She can be reached at info@indysome.org. Please pray for her labors and our students, of course!

I’ve been the full-time president for just over one month now, and already I’m very encouraged by the kind words I have received from many of you, and the affirmation that you see ITS heading in the right direction. Thanks for your continued prayers and support. To God be the praise in all things!

soli Deo gloria,
Nicholas G. Piotrowski, Ph.D.
