FSC's After-School Circus Program is headed to Chicago!
From August 3-11, Fern Street Circus will participate in a Social Circus Festival presented by CircEsteem and Cirque Du Soleil. Joining FSC will be social circus organizations from across the country (CircEsteem- Chicago, IL; Fern Street Circus, San Diego, CA; Wise Fool New Mexico — Santa Fe, NM; and Circus Harmony, St. Louis, MO).
FSC selected seven students from its after-school circus program to enjoy this exciting trip to Chicago. At the festival, these students will get to perform and learn a multitude of skills including aerial dance, German wheel, juggling, acrobatics, unicycle, and more!

Time to celebrate!
John Highkin, our Co-Founder and Executive Director, is celebrating his birthday on August 11! For his birthday this year, he's asking for donations to Fern Street Community Arts Inc. After-school circus program fun!
Thanks to generous donations, there are two new additions to our recreational program space at Mid-City Gym. Students can now enjoy a wonderful Nissen trampoline funded by Councilmember Georgette Gomez and a brand new AirTrack funded by the County Employees Charitable Organization (CECO). These tools are important in training our after-school participants in acrobatics, and we are grateful for the tremendous gifts that allow us to continue our social circus efforts.

National Night Out is a family-friendly event that helps foster positive community-law enforcement relations and promotes neighborhood safety.
There will be free food, games, music, community resources, and a demonstration of circus skills by students from our After-School Circus Program. All are welcome to attend the event and join in for the community march at 7:00pm.
