RacePace Coaching 

5 September 2018 From 19:00 at the Magnolia club house

Clint from Race Pace Coaching will visit us to talk to you about running form and posture and how improving it could make your everyday running experience much better.

The event is free to all Magnolia Club members and friends
There will be tea and coffee and a cash bar


 
Magnolia Member of the Month

The Magnolia Committee decided to announce a Magnolian of the Month in order to introduce all the movers and shakers to the club, based on any form of service/contribution or achievement.

For the month of August we decided to award this to Colette Curle. 
Colette has been an example and inspiration to fellow runners and completed two ultra marathons in March and April 2018. She was also willing to lend her help when it was truly needed. We wish Colette many happy races.
 

 

Magnolia Spring Run 2 September 2018


Magnolia will be hosting their annual Spring run on Sunday 2 September 2018.
 
Start: 07:00 
Distance: +-10 km. .
Place: Magnolia Clubhouse, 229 Middel street, New Muckleneuk.
Cost: R15

Club Tent


Look out for the new bright blue club tent on:
  • 11 August  Clicks Wierie Half Marathon, 10 & 5km
  • 18 August Phobians Fifteen 15km Race
The club tent will be at all Pretoria races on weekends unless specified otherwise. No club tent at races on Wednesdays. 

Cold drinks and snacks are provided by the club.
PLEASE NOTE: Beer/ciders will be available at no cost at races with a distance of 32km and more, otherwise beer will be sold for R12 and ciders for R15.

Dawn to Dusk 24 August

We would like to inform all our members who will be taking part in the Dawn to Dusk Circuit Race on 24 August that we will be taking the Magnolia Club Tent to Gerrit Maritz High School, Pretoria North. Members are welcome to come to the tent for support and to leave your tog bags, chairs, sleeping bags and refreshments there. We will take a gas braai as well.  Please feel free to join us and invite your supporters to come to the tent.

Sunday Runs

Sunday Magnolia Slow Club Run
 
The club will be offering a second club run on Sundays for all those who feel they are a little slow for the current group but are looking for group support.
Reminder, our slow run is open to all runners from all clubs and please note change in start time for this coming weekend.

Magnolia Sunday "tap" runs for the normal group

There is a change in the way the Sunday tap runs will be hosted from Sunday 5 August:

Please bring your own drinks in a bottle or Camelback. The cost for the run will only be a contribution to the Car Guard.

Reason for the change:

Some Fuel stations don’t supply plastic straws anymore. This will also limit pollution.

Planning of routes for tap runs will be easier, no need having a Fuel station every 3km.

However stops will still be announced at about every 3 km where the faster runners can turn around. The group still wait for the slowest runner starting again.

RacePace Coaching


Speed work is the core of what drives improvement in our running. So Magnolia has joined forces with Clinton Hunter from RacePace Coaching to provide group coaching sessions to all Magnolia members who are interested in improving their running in 2018.
These coaching sessions are for old, young, slow and fast.
The professional coaching sessions will be paid for by the club, so it will be free of charge to our members.

When: Wednesdays
Where: Harlequins Cricket Field (Where the Sunrise monster race finishes)
Time: 16:30/17:00/17:30 ( You can slot in with any group)

Tuesdays 17:30 – 18:30  
Sundays @ Club runs.

Please bring your email-printout and proof of payment to receive your AGN number. No number will be given without these documents.

We still have numerous Magnolia members who have not registered or arranged their transfers from other clubs. We created profiles for some of those members who have not done so. These members can either use their name or ID number as password to log in.
