Ethan, Julia, and I borrowed my dad’s Boston Whaler last night and I was able to make this image of a shelf cloud over the Ludington North Breakwater Light. Our adrenaline was pumping as we positioned the boat in just the right spot. It was an awesome night to be with family on Lake Michigan. Nikon D810. F8 at 1/1250, ISO 1600. 24-70mm lens at 24mm. Handheld from a boat without a flash. 7:55pm on August 1, 2018.

I love boating on Lake Michigan! On a tranquil July evening, while drifting at the entrance to Ludington harbor in my 13-foot Boston Whaler skiff, I am mesmerized by the light reflecting on the tranquil water. A large sailing vessel entering port completes the picture. Nikon D850. F7.1 at 1/800, ISO 800. 24-70mm lens at 29mm. Handheld from a boat without a flash. 9:06pm on July 29, 2018.
