We all desire to be a part of a friendly community of believers, but James begs the question, are we a friendly church or a church of friends? Join us this Sunday as we confront favoritism and explore Christ-like friendship.

Annual 5K for Life, August 4
The Options for Women 5K for Life run/walk is this Saturday! Registration begins at 8am and the race starts at 9am. Sign up with your family and support a great organization! If you'd like to volunteer, please call/text Rebecca at 715-781-0634.
Women's Book Club, August 7 at 5:30p
Katie Severson is organizing a discussion of the book Lies Women Believe & the Truth That Sets Them Free. The first discussion night is August 7 at 5:30pm at Katie Severson's house -- 2147 45th Avenue, Star Prairie. Please read the Introduction and the chapters on Sin, God, and Self. Everyone is welcome! Hospitality Teams
After-service treats will resume in September and a few more people are needed for the Hospitality Teams. Please sign up in the foyer if you can help. Contact Twyla Pennel with any questions (twydale@centurytel.net, 612-750-0677).
Nursery Room Items
VCS will be using the upstairs nursery that has the restroom as a classroom this school year and we need to clear it out. If you are interested in what happens to the items in that room and want to be involved, please contact Rebecca right away. Thank you!
Baptism + Membership
Pastor Nate and the Elders would like to speak with those interested in either baptism or church membership. They are happy to answer any questions you have. Please contact them, or email the office if you are interested.
YOUTH UPDATE
- Beach Party, August 19 from 2-6pm at Stelter's on Church Pine Lake. Hot dogs and beverages are provided; please bring a snack to share. Friends welcome!
- Youth Group begins Wednesday, September 5. Social Time is at 6:30p and Y.G. runs from 7:00-8:30p. Invite your friends!
- Fall Fling at Camp Shamineau, October 12-14. This youth retreat is for students entering 7th-12th grades. The cost is $109/person plus money for food on the trip up and back (deposits are due 9/5). Please talk with Damaris or Andy Campeau if your child/ren is interested. Some youth may have a balance from past fundraisers. Feel free to email Damaris to check.
