Volunteer for National Public Lands Day
Participate in the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands! Spend the morning (8 a.m.-noon) of Saturday, September 22 helping park staff with a variety of projects at the Bear Creek Greenbelt. Light breakfast and lunch will be included. Registration is required.

Trail Running Series
Still time to register and save!
Lace up your shoes and join us for a fall run in Bear Creek Lake Park. Lakewood’s popular Trail Running series returns in September, with a race each Wednesday of the month. All races start at 6 p.m. and vary in distance from four to seven miles.
Register by September 1 for the four-race series for the best deal, or sign up for individual dates at Lakewood.org/TrailRunning.

Step into the darkness...
... and learn about bats! Join us for Adult Nature Explorers on Thursday, September 13 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Lake Park to learn all about these flying mammals. Then, head out on the trail to search for them.
This program is geared towards those 18 and older and is $5 to participate. Register online.

Fun nature programs for kids
Our Bear Cubs program helps young children (ages 3-5) develop a love for the great outdoors! Participants will explore their natural environment through stories, songs and interactive programs. Upcoming topics include:
Sept. 6 - Fall Flyers (migratory birds)
Oct. 11 - Pumpkin Playtime (decorate your own pumpkin!)
Register for $5 and meet at the Bear Creek Lake Park Visitor Center from 10-11 a.m.
