Met dit zomerse weer zijn we het liefst buiten, maar daar hebben we helemaal geen tijd voor! De KEI-week staat namelijk voor de deur  (13-17 augustus) en dit jaar pakken we het groots aan! We organiseren allerlei evenementen tijdens de KEI-week om ook dit jaar de eerstejaars studenten vanaf dag 1 een duurzame mindset mee te geven. Deze nieuwsbrief staat daarom speciaal in het teken van deze KEI-week, waar we je hopen te zien!

Onze KEI-planning!

We hebben een drukke week voor de boeg en zijn bijna elke dag wel ergens te vinden op de KEI-activiteiten! Als vanouds vind je ons op de Infomarkt en in de Green Corner van het Lustrum Festival. Dit jaar geven we echter ook een kookworkshop en zijn we van de partij bij de KEI-Picknick. Lees alles over onze planning op onze website!

We zoeken nog steeds naar hulp voor bij onze evenementen! Als het je leuk lijkt om mee te helpen, stuur ons dan een mailtje op greenoffice@rug.nl!
Gezocht: KEI Fotograaf!

Ben jij een goeie (hobby) fotograaf en wil je duurzaamheid promoten? Doe mee met ons Green Office Promoteam tijdens de KEI-week! We zoeken naar een vrijwilliger die foto’s willen maken gedurende deze week. We hebben je hulp nog nodig op de KEI-markt op maandag 13 augustus, tussen 11-16. Interesse? Stuur een mail naar greenoffice@rug.nl en laat wat van je portfolio zien.
Duurzaamheid tijdens de KEI

In samenwerking met de Green Office is deze KEI-editie duurzamer dan ooit tevoren! Zo zijn er onder andere speciale vegetarische maaltijdpakketten voor KEI-groepjes bij de AH te krijgen, wordt er een duurzame picknick georganiseerd en zal het podium tijdens het Lustrum Festival duurzaam van energie worden voorzien! Alles over deze en andere duurzame maatregelen lees je hier!
Sustainable tip:

Ga je deze zomer verhuizen en heb je spullen nodig? Kijk dan eerst eens in een kringloopwinkel of op Marktplaats! Daar vind je vaak spullen die goedkoper en duurzamer (want tweedehands) zijn!
Het KEI Green Team

Om ervoor te zorgen dat de KEI-week duurzamer wordt in de komende jaren gaan we voor het eerst ooit meten hoeveel energie en water er tijdens zo’n week gebruikt wordt! Hiervoor hebben we een eigen Green Team opgezet van vrijwilligers. Doel is om data op te leveren voor onderzoek en zodat de KEI verbeteringen kan doorvoeren.
Duurzame Blog:
Green Office helpt studenten aan een groen balkon!

Naast dat bloemen en planten leuk staan hebben ze ook een meerwaarde. De Green Office, in samenwerking met Operatie Steenbreek Groningen, hielp de studenten Anne en Diederik aan een duurzaam balkon! With these extreme temperatures we'd love nothing more than to be outside, but we don't have any time for that! The KEI-week is coming up (from the 13th to the 17th of August) and this year, we're sparing no expenses! Once again, we'll be organising all kinds of events during the KEI-week to introduce a green mindset to all the new students coming to the University of Groningen. To help with that, this edition of the newsletter is focused on the KEI-week, during which we hope to see you!

Our KEI-plans!

We’re looking forward to a busy week, where we can be found at several activities throughout the week. Similar to previous years, we’ll be present at the info market and at the Green Corner of the Lustrum Festival. Additionally, we’ll be giving a cooking workshop and we’ll participate in the KEI-picnic this year. Read all about our plans at our website!

WANTED: KEI-Week Photographer

Are you a good (hobby) photographer and want to promote sustainability? Join our Green Office promo team during the KEI-week. We are looking for a volunteer to make pictures during this week. Specifically, we still need your help on Monday the 13th [between 11:00h and 16:00] of August! Send us an email: greenoffice@rug.nl, and add your photography portfolio.
Sustainability at the KEI-Week!

In collaboration with the Green Office, this year’s KEI-week will be more sustainable than ever before! Among other things, there will be vegetarian meals for KEI-groups at the Albert Heijn supermarkets, there will be a sustainable picnic and one of the stages at the Lustrum Festival will be powered through sustainable energy! The KEI Green Team

To make sure that the KEI-week becomes more sustainable every year, we’re going to measure its energy and water consumption for the first time ever! To do so, we’ve set up our very own Green Team, consisting of volunteers! The goal of this team is to generate data for research and so that the KEI organisation can make improvements for the next years.
Sustainable tip:
 
Are you moving to a new place this summer and do you need furniture? Take a look at a thriftshop or Marktplaats.nl first! You can find cheaper and more sustainable (because second-hand) stuff there!
