Dear <<First Name>>
When I first began my tango lessons in 2001 Piazzolla was not played at concerts, or on the wireless! He was little known amongst those who loved classical music and rarely played. His music was also never played at the monthly or occasional milongas I attended.
Now it is not unusual to hear his music played at milongas, though I would never get up to dance to his pieces as they are so complex I love to listen rather than dance. It was also very exciting to find that his music made it to the top 20 of ABC Classic FM's top dance music, voted by listeners. 'Libertango came in at no. 16. and 'Oblivion' at no. 52.
I love to listen to Piazzolla (I think I have every piece he wrote on CD) and I love to dance to the Golden Age tangos. I am delighted that tango music is becoming better known and appreciated.
Hopefully listening to, and enjoying Piazzolla will lead people to want to dance to this wonderful music.

Happy tangoing,

Carol
