Maldives forecast to lead annual growth rate of visitor arrivals in South Asia by 2022


 
South Asia is expected to enjoy a solid increase in international visitor arrivals from 2018 to 2022 with an average annual growth rate of eight percent and over 21 million visitor arrivals forecast by the end of 2022. The Maldives (+8.5%), India (+8.4%) and Bhutan (+8.1%) are anticipated to yield higher annual average growth of visitor arrivals while Sri Lanka (+7.0%) and Nepal (+4.2%) is projected to lag behind in the region.

Tourism Industry Aotearoa: Tourism industry calls for improvements in immigration performance


Major improvements are needed in Immigration New Zealand’s fiscal and operational management to avoid future cost blow-outs, Tourism Industry Aotearoa says. INZ is proposing to increase immigration fees and levies by as much as 54%, as it seeks to recover a deficit of $50 million. Read more
