Enno Schmidt unexpectedly cannot come on 4 and 5 August from Basel to Ferwert, but will come on 8 and 9 September. The day before, 7 September, he will have talked in Munich about the ‘Artistic Mission Europe’ together with Johannes Stüttgen, Götz Werner and Wolfger Pöhlmann an initiative of the Omnibus für Direkte Demokratie on: How to surpass the Power Structures? We in Ferwert will be the first ones to hear his report on the Munich meeting. This year the Omnibus für Direkte Demokratie started its yearly Europa Tour on 21 June on the Vrijhof in Ferwert.

Enno Schmidt (1958) Osnabrück, studied at the Art Academy of Frankfurt, he is a member of the Social Sculpture Research Unit at the Oxford Brookes University, in 2006 he founded the initiative basic income with entrepreneur Daniel Häni in Basel, in 2012 they launched a Federal Peoples Initiative for an unconditional basic income that was successfully submitted with 126,000 signatures in October 2013 and came on June 5th, 2016, to a national referendum with 23 % of the votes cast in favor. This is the first time in history that an entire population discussed and voted about the introduction of an unconditional basic income. Thus the issue was worldwide on the table. Enno Schmidt who lives in Basel is active in the international basic income movement.
