A tale I heard

Actor Hank Azaria on his character David originally being planned to be the one to marry Phoebe in Friends, and Mike (Paul Rudd):

"The plan always was kind of to bring him back. What happened was Paul Rudd is so awesome that they sort of found a groove with him and David became more of just the grist for that mill. As opposed to the other way around.

"It actually did sting a little bit. Whatever part of me is David the Science Guy who went to Minsk, which admittedly is probably a small part of me, but that part of me wanted to end up with Phoebe. So I was sort of sad when I didn’t."

A tale I wrote

Life would sometimes get too much for Charlie.

On days like that he would unzip himself,
climb out of his skin and start all over.

When things got too much again,
he’d repeat the process again
and again and again and again.

His mates called him ‘Snaky’.
