This summer, over the course of two days, I had one a few of those moments spurred from the most unlikely of places….the Today Show. Three moments in particular - a Jordan Spieth interview, a cooking demo from a child prodigy chef, and family who quit school for 10 years to sail around the world - got me thinking about just how disconnected school life is from real life. I wonder about “mastery”, school’s unique value propositions and whether age and ability are mutually exclusive.
