Kia Ora, and welcome to our August Newsletter.
This month I want to share some information about how teams can become more supportive of each other building on person-centred processes. Each team member completes their one-page profile with input from their colleagues into what people like and admire about them. Sharing profiles is a good way to identify how the team can best support each other and it is useful to understand what a good day/bad day looks and feels like for the people you work closely with.
Establishing a team contract brings everyone together. These are examples of the points that might be in a contract:
1.    Back each other as a team
2.    Growth focused, support each other moving forward
3.    Information/Knowledge sharing
4.    Team reflection
5.    Making work a fun/enjoyable place to be
6.    To actively listen
7.    To do as we say we will do (walk the talk)
8.    Don’t be afraid to be honest if we stuff up – there is always a solution
9.    Look after yourself- take responsibility for your well-being
10.  Give each other time to do their work

As a team you then need to agree on how to hold each other accountable for the team contract. Being able to give and receive feedback is key to personal development.
Helen has shared here an example of a process Wellbeing teams are using as part of buddy support.

Buddy Support in Wellbeing Teams
Each Wellbeing Worker has a Buddy, and their role is to support and challenge each other. One of the ways they do this is in their monthly session together, when they use Confirmation Practices. This involves giving themselves a score against a statement, sharing with their Buddy why they have given themselves that score and how they want to improve over the next month. They replace one to ones with your manager in our self-managing teams.
Helen has shared this example from their Wellbeing Team

One-page profile of the month
One-page profiles for school
The very first one-page profile was created with Helen Sanderson’s daughter Laura to help her teachers get to know her better...We now work with all types of schools and colleges worldwide supporting them to use this highly effective and powerful person-centred thinking tool. A one-page profile captures all the important information about a young person on a single sheet of paper under three simple headings: what people appreciate about me, what’s important to me and how best to support me.
In this video, Georgie talks about her experience with one-page profiles from primary school to college.
