Designing and Evaluating Innovative Mobile Pedagogies is a three-year Erasmus+ Key Action 2 project with partners in the UK, Australia, Ireland, Cyprus, Belgium and the Netherlands. The project aims to provide guidance and materials to help both in service and pre-service teachers design innovative mobile pedagogies, as well as inform stakeholders as they plan and implement future policies.

This €450,000 project launched in October 2017 and will run until August 2020.

The project has already completed an extensive global scoping study on the use of mobile technology, and its disruptive effects, in today's classrooms. With the help and support of a number of key experts in the field, the team will begin to identify themes and trends. These findings will be used to develop, trial and produce a dedicated pedagogical app, a number of specialist case study examples and a MOOC for use both in the classroom and in teacher training environments.

The project will be of particular interest to teachers, trainees and trainers across the EU.
The project team is seen here at their second project meeting in Cyprus (May 2018)

With near ubiquitious personal ownership of mobile devices, schools and teacher educators are struggling to incorporate new technologies effectively into their mainstream curricula. Research points to the lack of reliable evidence linking such technologies to learning, and notes how mobile devices, when used, have largely replicated rather than transformed the pedagogical practices of educators.

The project team recognises the need to collect and use such evidence in its approach. Its primary aim is to utilise its research to develop innovative mobile pedagogies that will enhance the capacity of today’s teachers.  In doing so, the team aims to measure the impact of this on practice, with the eventual intention of influencing policy makers across the EU.

The project is seeking participants who will help it measure/promote:

how mobile technologies can promote transformative and inclusive pedagogies
their ability to design and evaluate their own innovative mobile pedagogies
a network for teacher educators to develop and research mobile technologies
the dissemination of evidence to colleagues, trainees and policy makers
Free Events
Join the project team at one of their 2018 national Multiplier Events in:
York, UK on 14th September
Galway, Ireland 14th September
Nicosia,  Cyprus in September
Sydney, Australia in October
Hasselt, Belgium in September
Den Haag, Netherlands on 3rd October 2018

Meet the national partners, hear about the project and  view a number of case studies and resources developed by the team. Participants will be provided with an opportunity to design and develop their own case studies for use in their own classroom and training environment.
