Sylo Associates head to Number 10

Thame's very own Sally White (pictured third from left), director and co-founder of Thame based HR Consultancy SYLO Associates, was part of a 16 strong select group of rural entrepreneurs invited to meet with Jimmy McLoughlin, one of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisers, at Number 10 Downing Street last week.

The business owners were asked to identify one practical thing they would like to see in a future Budget that would make it easier to start and grow a business, that Mr McLoughlin could take back to the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Sally proposed that larger capital investment support should be made available to business, with a Government backed Angel Investment Scheme, and on the back of this, reduce the tax companies pay by reviewing the Entrepreneurs’ Tax Relief.

Get involved in our Christmas Event

It seems WAY too early to talk about Christmas - especially in this heat! -  but to make it a great event planning starts now. We are currently consulting the community about what they want to see at the event, but in order to make it happen, we rely on the generous support of local businesses for sponsorship. Businesses can choose to sponsor a specific aspect of the event, for example the Lantern Parade, or choose a package from the Sponsorship Opportunities leaflet available via the Town Council’s website. Sponsorship starts from £50 and is gratefully received.

We will also be publicising any businesses who stay open late, and if you want to come out into the town centre with a stall then let us know. Please email info@thametowncouncil.gov.uk if you would like to be involved in the event or have any ideas to add to our plans.
