Things Heating Up This Summer

In the month since our last newsletter the Energy Efficiency Association has been busy developing plans for the 2019 Energy Efficiency Conferences, the 2018 AGM and the launch of a new range of benefits for Energy Efficiency Members for next year.

We have had meetings with BEIS, with Funding Providers, with Installers and with Manufacturers over the last month, and we have helped introduce members to each other in order to help them complete new projects successfully.

We are trying to coordinate the logistics for meetings with EST, BRE, BSI, Trustmark and BEAMA in the coming weeks, and we are happy to raise any questions members may have for theses organisations.

Government Consultation - Energy Performance Certificates for Buildings

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are a widely used measure of the energy performance of buildings, both in the residential and commercial sectors, and are a key tool in promoting energy efficiency improvements to buildings.

BEIS is seeking evidence on how EPCs are currently performing against 3  attributes:

  • quality
  • availability
  • encouraging action to improve energy efficiency

We would urge any members with good or bad experiences of EPC's to contribute to the consultation process online at https://beisgovuk.citizenspace.com/home-local-energy/epc-call-for-evidence/

If you have not participated in a government consultation before, the process is fairly easy, and can all be done online. The forms ask lots of questions, but you only need to answer the ones where you have something to say, you don't need to comment on everything, so it needn't take too much time. Case studies are extremely useful to BEIS and these can be submitted by email if you already have ones that you feel are relevant.

If you would rather share your experiences with us, we will collate information from members and feed it back to BEIS on your behalf.

We encourage you to get involved.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR EEA MEMBERS

A number of members have questions about the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), funders and the supply chain in particular, are asking for help with specific documents for proving their compliance for GDPR.

We are delighted to say Damm Solutions have extend a members-only offer to the EEA that could help you.
