The fourth annual Pender Harbour Days happens next weekend, August 3, 4, and 5 in Madeira Park. The festival is an annual celebration of our maritime heritage featuring historical boats, land-based heritage displays, sailing competitions, and more combined with arts, music, kids activities, vendors, and entertainment. Friday, August 3:
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm: boat parade around Pender Harbour. All boats are welcome to join! More details and route map.
8:00 pm: Coffee House at the School of Music featuring local musicians. (Doors 7:30. By donation)
Saturday, August 4:
8-10 am: Lion's Club serves up breakfast sandwiches. ($)
10 am - 3 pm: heritage boats on display at the Madeira Park Wharf (large boats) and in the parking lot (smaller boats), as well as displays (Coast Astronomy, PODS, Heritage Society and more), activities, vendors, food (including a Rotary Club BBQ 11 am - 2 pm - $), music and lots of fun for the whole family!
7 pm: choose from two great evening entertainment options!
- Prime Rib Dinner and Dance to Bear Music at the Pender Harbour Legion. Tickets $30 available at the Legion 604 883 2235 or Harbour Insurance
- Women Who Love to Sing! A jazz concert presented by Nikki Weber and Friends at the Pender Harbour School of Music. Tickets $22 available by calling Nikki Weber 604 740 0933 or at Strait Music in Sechelt.
Sunday, August 5:
8-10 am: Lion's Club serves up breakfast sandwiches. ($)
10 am - 2 pm: Heritage boats on display at the Madeira Park Wharf (large boats) and in the parking area (small boats). Rotary Club BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs from 11 am - 2 pm. ($)
10:30 am - noon: at the School of Music, join Isaac van der Horst of the West Vancouver Museum and Archives for a presentation on Scandinavian fishermen of the Sunshine Coast and area
2 pm: Winners drawn for the fundraising raffle for the cedar strip canoe and the 50/50. Tickets will be sold Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds from both draws go towards RCM-SAR Unit 61 Pender Harbour for equipment upgrades.
