“It was a great experience to work with such motivated athletes. Their attention to detail and ability to learn and apply new skills and techniques enabled them to see huge progress in their strength, coordination, balance, and athleticism. I was very impressed with how far and how quickly they advanced physically, but even more impressed with their energy, motivation, and heart that was poured in to every session. “

UBC FOOTBALL 1 - DAY SUMMER SKILLS AND IDENTIFICATION CAMP
(full equipment) - August 11th $109.00
Spaces limited - last 3 years sold out.

This skills camp focuses on developing the fundamentals of each position, and is divided into two separate focus areas: a) Run (OL/DL/RB/LB) & b) Pass (WR/DB/QB). During the online registration process, players will have the choice to be in the Run focused camp or the Pass focused camp based on the primary position they select.

The camp will consist of on-field practices, plus a session on UBC academic requirements and tips on how to be recruited. On-field skills will be taught and full equipment will be required for these practices. The classroom session will include a breakdown of the film that is taken in the morning sessions and will provide highly personalized video feedback. This is one of the only camps in British Columbia that provides video breakdown and analysis for players.

The Washington Kids Foundation has reached over 15,000 youth and with the commitment and dedication of the WKF team and the support of its partners, we will continue to alleviate barriers giving all youth the opportunity to succeed.

WKF North Vancouver continues to work with the North Vancouver School District (NVSD). We have served over 300 students and 9 different school in our daytime programs. The ongoing support and funding identifies the importance of the program in helping each child reach their goals.
We look to finishing the school year strong and forward to a busy summer day camp.

Washington Kids Foundation Summer Camps!

Washington Kids North Vancouver are excited for the upcoming summer program for ages 5-13 years old. We have great out trips and programs planned for the children and youth!

This year, we will be introducing the IMPACT program for ages 10-13 years old. IMPACT stands for Impacting MPeers And CommuniTy.

This program is designed for youth to meet new friends and to teach them about leadership in the community. As well, enjoy great out trips and programs with their peers. Throughout the week the youth will be giving back to the community with a variety of initiatives put together by the staff. We look forward to offering the program to the youth and watching them make a difference.

WKF Update:
North Vancouver day camps are off to a great start!

The IMPACT Program (Impacting My Peers And CommuniTy) has been a great success for being a first year program.

Each Wednesday throughout the summer the youth are taking on a community initiative.

Week one the youth did a beach and park garbage pick up.

Week two they did an amazing job hosting a car wash at Canadian Tire in North Vancouver and raised over $650 to buy toys for kids at Children’s Hospital. They youth had a heartwarming time delivering the toys the next day.

Last week the youth made over 200 brown bagged lunches for the homeless community on the downtown east side. What an experience to give back, but also an eye opener for many of these youth.

We are so proud of all the youth involved in the IMPACT Program for giving back to their community. We look forward to the rest of the summer and continuing to work with the youth in making making a difference.
1. Prepare ahead of time by eating lots of fruit (all fruits contain plenty of water and are easy for the body to utilize)
2. Drinking water before, during, and after workouts is essential.
3. Avoid extended periods of time in the sun and heat prior to a workout or competition.
4. Wear a hat and apply suntan lotion for workouts directly in the sun.
5. Pools, lakes and the ocean are your friend - use them often to cool off!
Coach Dino’s Recruiting Academy serves to help student-athletes, parents, teachers and counsellors navigate through the increasingly competitive and confusing world of university athletic recruiting. Appreciating the process and the opportunity are key in achieving the best university fit. “There are lots of options, which one is right for you.” As a student-athlete goes through the recruiting process they will develop so many characteristics that will serve to be useful in all areas of their life for the rest of their lives.
