WELCOME TO AUGUST!
Please take note of the following updates and reminders:

Welcome to Term 3!

As we're heading into the term, we would like to welcome all our new and returning families. We look forward to all the adventures this term has in store for us!

NEW ADDITIONS:

BACH:

Our Bach class is officially up and running! Teacher Lauren J is doing an amazing job with our youngest little ones, ages 1 to 2. We are so happy to have them with us for their important early start to an enriching learning journey - They even have their own, special little outdoor play garden at school, set up according to the needs of this adorable age group!

CAPRICCIO! LEARNING ACADEMY:

We are very excited to announce that our Capriccio! Learning Academy has now officially been registered with Impaq Education. We will be offering Grade 1 and 2 as from the start of the 2019 school year. Our foundation phase group's brand new classroom is in the process of being set up upstairs, next door to our Stravinsky class. We will provide prospective parents with more information in the upcoming week - Please contact Savannah should you wish to be included on the mailing list. Enrolments for 2019 will open soon!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS:

With winter in full swing, our little ones are more vulnerable to colds and flu. We ask that parents please adhere to our policy regarding sick little ones, as outlined in our parent info letter.

Thank you to all our parents who have sent their children's mid-year hygiene supplies to school. We kindly ask that parents who have not yet done so, please help us to maintain a hygienic environment for all (2 x packs of wet wipes; preferably Pigeon brand, and a box of tissues).

ARRIVAL AND COLLECTION PROCEDURES:

As per our recent email, we ask that parents kindly adhere to drop-off and collection times. This is especially important to ensure our little ones are in routine and don't miss out on valuable class time. Please take note of our class times:

- Bach and Mozart: 8:30 to 12:30 (latest collection 12:40)
- Beethoven: 8:20 to 12:45 (latest collection 12:55)
-Chopin: 8:10 to 13:00 (latest collection 13:10)
-Stravinsky: 8:00 to 13:15 (latest collection 13:25)

In an effort to avoid traffic jams, we ask that parents who would like to walk in with their little ones please not park in the parking section in front of the school gate. We need to keep this area open as a drop-and-go zone and ask that you then rather park further up the road.

Please remember to treat the drop-and-go zone as a “drive thru” (parking as far as possible to the front of the section) so as to maximise the parking space.

We also ask that everyone please ensure that the gate is securely closed at all times, and that all follow general road safety rules, as keeping your little ones safe is of utmost importance to us.

2019 ENROLMENT

With the end of the year fast approaching we have been hard at work finalising 2019 enrolments. We currently have limited space available and would love to give the last few spots to Capriccio! family and friends. Kindly contact Savannah in the office (admin@artspreschool.co.za) for more information.

For Capriccio! little ones who will not be joining us next year, kindly note that we require one school quarter's notice. We therefore ask relevant parents to please submit written notice via email by the end of this term.

CAPRICCIO! OUTREACH GROUP:

Our Capriccio Outreach group would like to invite all our families to join us on Women's Day for a beach clean-up in Big Bay, hosted by CleanC. The clean-up starts at 9:30 and will be followed by a beach walk/run, some stand up paddle boarding and yoga. There is no cost involved and Eden on the Bay is a wonderful location for a family fun day! Head over to the CleanC website for more details: http://www.cleanc.co.za/

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS:

Our annual school photographs will be taken from the 20th to the 22nd of August, by Maresna Van Schoor Photography. Maresna, a previous Capriccio! parent, is a professional, kind and gentle photographer - We had lovely feedback from parents with regard to her work on our school photographs last year.

More details about the theme of the shoot to follow. Children to please wear their yellow Capriccio shirts for the class photographs on Wed 22nd.

Maresna has made two packages available for parents to choose from:

- R120 for prints only (see below package, which also includes a class photograph)
- R160 for prints and electronic photographs

To order, contact Maresna directly by clicking here

Please note that the school will not be able to receive any payments in this regard - Payment is done directly with Maresna and need to be made before the prints / electronic versions could be released.

THE BOP BOPPERS - SCHOOL VISIT:

The Bop Boppers are visiting us this term to present our little ones with a fun and informative show, which focuses on a range of environmental and social topics, specifically how to save water and recycle. We know our Little Green Hearts will love this! The event is scheduled for Friday, September 14th during school time and the cost is R40 per learner, payable in cash with Savannah in the office by Friday 7th Sept.

SOUTH AFRICAN HERITAGE CELEBRATION:

September is Heritage month and with Heritage Day falling in the September/October school holiday, we would like to celebrate our South African heritage at school on Friday 21st September, the last day of term. We ask that all little ones dress in a creative (preferably recycled or self-made), proudly South African outfit of their choice and bring some traditional South African bite-size snacks that may be shared with their class.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, cooperation and support. Feel free to contact us should you have any questions.

Wishing all our families - and our mommies especially - a wonderful Women's month!

Kind regards
Elbe Webber (principal) & Team
