Save the dates for CCT's 2018-2019 season!
CCT will open its 21st season with The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theatre Project. This production will be directed by Jim Danek and will run October 11-21, 2018 (Thursdays-Saturdays at 8:00pm, Sundays at 2:00pm).
The Laramie Project dramatizes the reaction to the 1998 murder of gay University of Wyoming students Matthew Shepard, one of the pivotal crimes in the history of LGBTQ awareness in the United States. On October 7, 1998, Matthew Shepard was discovered bound to a fence in the hills outside of Laramie, Wyoming, savagely beaten and left to die. He passed away five days later on October 12, 1998 and for the next year and a half, members of the Tectonic Theatre Project interviewed citizens of Laramie to create this beautiful piece of theatre. CCT is proud to present this important work on the 20th anniversary of Matthew's death.

Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Jessa Knust. February 7-17, 2019. This "weird and wonderful" (New York Times) retelling of the Greek myth about the musician Orpheus and his wife Eurydice ruminates on love, loss, and the power of memory. Eurydice is one of the few retellings of the classic myth told from the heroine's perspective. It considers her untimely death and descent into the Underworld, what she finds there, and her difficult decision of whether or not to return to Earth with Orpheus. Eurydice was nominated for Drama League and Drama Desk awards in 2008.
Biloxi Blues by Neil Simon, directed by Sam Hack. May 2-12, 2019. This well-known play, the second in Simon's semi-autobiographical "Eugene trilogy" centers on Eugene's observations of the contest of wills between his drill sergeant and an intellectual recruit at a Biloxi, Mississippi army base in 1943. Along the way, he loses his innocence in many ways. It is both a reflection on prejudice and and people's reaction to prejudice, and also hilariously funny from beginning to end, and it is the winner of multiple Tony awards. CCT plans to complete the Eugene trilogy with Broadway Bound in the 2019-2020 season.

As is true of most non-profit theatre companies, Clayton Community Theatre depends on the generosity of its supporters to bridge the financial gap between ticket revenue and production costs. All donors are recognized as members in every program and receive varying benefits for their membership, depending on their level of support.
Membership is available at several levels:
Subscriber: $60 for adults, $50 for seniors/students. Includes one season ticket to all three plays (adults save 20% off the single ticket price, seniors/students save 17%).
Supporter: $150. Includes two season tickets to all three plays, reserved seating with advanced reservation, and two complimentary beverages per production.
Patron: $250. Includes two season tickets to all three plays, on-site donor recognition signage, reserved seating with advanced reservation, and two complimentary beverages per production.
Sponsor: Includes two season tickets to all three plays, on-site donor recognition signage, reserved seating with advanced reservation, unlimited complimentary beverages, and a pre-show meeting with the cast and director on request for each production.
Member: $20. Does not include season tickets, but includes acknowledgement in the program.

A special shout-out
CCT is fortunate to have some of the best volunteers in town. We would like to say a big thank-you to Jean Heckmann and Julie Smailys for undertaking a huge project to organize our costume closet. These two ladies, assisted by Nathan Schroeder, Nada Vaughn, Sam Hack, and Gabi Maul, spent many hours of prime summer time sorting through costumes and devising an organization system. Both Jean and Julie have served as costume designer for multiple CCT productions, and their efforts will help us keep CCT's actors looking their best for seasons to come!
