We've just completed our Sunday night line-up for September, and are now looking forward to some outstanding nights to bring the autumn in.

Just confirmed for September 23rd is the brilliant R.M Hubbert - an exemplary guitarist and mainstay of the Glasgow diy music scene since the early 90's. Recently recording and touring with Arab Strap's Aidan Moffat.

Dressed Like Wolves

Our season kicks off with Futureheads frontman and wonderful all-round musician Barry Hyde - navigating a course from punk through punk-cabaret, via the wrought piano work of his 2016 solo album Malody. We've just confirmed - the awesome Tom Joshua to play support.

Also just confirmed - on September 9th:
Andy Jones v Andy Johnson, two of Teesside's greatest songwriters go head to head - in a kind of battle-rap meets indie-spat showdown...

We then have a just a small number of tickets left for Donald Trumps; comedy from the founders of Viz - a quiz show format based on TV quiz shows of the 70's - and Viz - on September 16th.

On a similar theme "Scarred for Life - Growing Up Terrified in the 70's" - a chat-show with the authors of the hit self-published book, and Bob Fischer - is sold out. (September 30th)

We should mention that there are just a few remaining tickets for Emily Barker on October 21st also.

Look out for another announcement next week - to mailing-listers first, which is likely to sell very quickly.

Meanwhile, engineers from Samuel Smiths were here installing cooling equipment for our new bar yesterday, ready for our official opening in September when we'll have Pure Brewed Organic Lager on tap - as well as Sam Smiths Cider and a Dark Mild.

Samuel Smiths is a fascinating traditional brewery - as one of England's oldest, it has resisted modernisation - producing vegan-suitable, additive-free beer, having hundreds of acres of organic farmland around Tadcaster. Sam Smiths has been a fantastic match for the Waiting Room over the years supplying our popular bottled fruit beers as well as our organic pale ale, lager and lovely cider. And now they've installed us this very tidy keg kit:
Also, has anyone got a CNC Router? so we can make another of these trendy glass hangers - that I made at school. Ta.
And finally, as we promised last week - a picture of Anna's lovely freshly baked homemade burger buns:
