“The best place on Earth!” – Kurstyn's stress-free summer camp story

I have never once heard “No you can’t,” or “That’s impossible!" Camp is truly the BEST PLACE ON EARTH!" 


For 22-year-old Kurstyn Froud, going to accessible summer camp each year allows her to “timeout” and have a stress-free week with her friends. This year, the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC stepped in with financial assistance to send her to Easter Seals Camp Winfield just outside of Kelowna for one week in July.

Dessert & Wine Fundraiser

The 5th Annual Dessert & Wine Fundraiser

We invite you to enjoy a night of laughter, sharing stories, and playing silly games while supporting the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC. All funds raised will go towards our free programs and services so that people living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities can live a Life Without Limits.

There will be a selection of fine wines combined with a variety of cheeses and sweets to whet your appetite! Non-alcoholic drinks along with coffee and tea will be offered as well.

When: Saturday, September 15th from 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Where: The Sweetery Cafe (340 W 2nd Avenue, Vancouver)

“Downright exclusive”: CPABC comments on plastic straw ban

An outright ban of the plastic straw is not an inclusive policy, but, rather, downright exclusive.” – Glenda Watson-Hyatt, CPABC member

 

The Cerebral Palsy Association of BC does not agree with an outright ban on plastic straws. We believe that plastic straws should be readily available for anyone with a disability when they request one. There are many valid reasons why people with disabilities need plastic straws.
