Timeless Jewelry
In the early days of the Museum, Shashi traveled frequently. He visited the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the British Museum and many others. He took rolls upon rolls of photographs of pieces that caught his eye. He would then return to San Francisco to meticulously sketch and design a reproduction that was produced by hand.
Detailed granule and filigree work - made of rows of tiny beads or twisted wire - simply can't be molded. So we've never tried. Each piece is created using hand-faceted stones and hand-painted enamel. The filigree hearts you see on the Triskelion pieces below were executed by hand; each individual strand meticulously laid. No two pieces are alike.
