San Diego's heating up.
We're not talking about the weather. Summer might be coming to a close, but nothing is slowing down in San Diego. Our startups are getting funding to develop life-changing innovations, with many posting triple-digit revenue growth. Our universities are continuing to top the charts in national rankings. We're even beefing up our drone presence in our sunny, clear-blue skies.

The San Diego innovation ecosystem is growing fast. If you're looking to be part of it, be sure to check
out our interactive company map that showcases the cool tech, life sciences, and lifestyle companies located in San Diego. If you're part of a San Diego company that meets these criteria and would like to be added to the map, you can request it here.
Other hot topics in San Diego:
  • San Diego has been named Inc.'s #5 city for most fast-growing private companies.
  • Thanks to SDG&E, San Diegans will soon be able to charge their electric cars at the beach, school, parks, and more. SDG&E is spending big bucks to install more than 300 new charging stations throughout the county.
  • Startup San Diego is doing big things for our entrepreneurial community and hired its first full-time employee - Executive Director, Jarrod Russell.
Last but not least, San Diego companies looking to go global will get their chance. World Trade Center San Diego is now taking applications for its MetroConnect export assistance program.

Celebrating San Diego.

What happens when San Diego's best and brightest gather together to celebrate the amazing place they call home? They have a really, really good time. Last week, we held our annual Life. Changing. Summer Bash fundraiser that celebrated the cool, innovative companies and people here. We had inspirational keynotes from LunaDNA's Dawn Barry and Amazon's Nate Wiger is why San Diego is perfect for innovators and a critical element to their companies' success. Celebrity chef Brian Malarkey also shared his San Diego story, while serving up some SD-inspired bites. Big shout out to our friends at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. who hosted the event. More photos here.
