Seeking
Housekeeping Job
Frances Hartley has been coming to our church for the past few months.  She is in need of housekeeping employment.  She is willing to work any hours at a very reasonable rate and will clean windows, scrub floors, etc.  She will need transportation and has no phone.  If you can use her services or know of someone who can use them, please contact her any Sunday before or after the worship service or contact Anita at 848-373-9304.
"Thank You"
Pop-Up Canopies
"Thank You" to everyone who responded to our campaign to procure pop-up canopies to support our outdoor events at the church.  Through your canopy donations and financial contributions, we were able to obtain 4 pop-up canopies.
Communion Sunday Collections
On Sunday, September 2nd, we will resume the Communion Sunday special collections.  The purpose of these collections is to fund the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund.  Please use the special envelopes in the pews marked "Communion" for this collection. As in the past, this fund will be used by the pastor to help local people in temporary need; someone that comes to the church door or someone in our own congregation.  As the name implies, the pastor will use her discretion concerning how the funds are used and confidential details of how the funds are distributed will be documented for accountability.  This special offering will be taken on the first Sunday of each month.  Thank you for your support.

The last day to return the filled baby bottles is Sunday, September 9th.

As a summer mission initiative, we have decided to support the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey’s “Formula for Hope” campaign.  To facilitate this, we are distributing empty baby bottles. If you wish to participate in this outreach program, please take one or more  bottles home and over the summer put loose change in them (or cash or checks).

Your spare change could mean the world to a baby in need. It will support over 50 life saving programs and services that CHSofNJ provides throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.  It will make a meaningful difference in the lives of at-risk babies and children in our community.  Every penny counts, and even the smallest amount can make a BIG difference toward the mission of saving children’s lives and building healthy families.

You may return the bottles to the church anytime before the September 9th deadline. Money collected will be counted on that day and a check for the total will be sent to the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey. Thank you for your support of this outreach activity.  You may contact Anita at 848-373-9304 for more information.

Grocery Shopping Cards

Every week during Fellowship Time, you have the opportunity to purchase grocery store shopping cards for either Shoprite or Stop & Shop.  This is a convenient way to pay for the food you buy at the grocery store and at the same time support the ministries of DeBows UMC.  The church makes 5% of all shopping cards sold. You may see Sue Hayward or Marilyn Allerton to purchase the shopping cards on any Sunday.

DeBows will be conducting the following fundraising events this coming fall.  Funds raised during these events will be used to support the ministry programming at DeBows.  More details will be posted as the events get closer.

Scrip Gift Card Orders

On Sunday, September 9th, we will total all submitted Scrip Gift Card order forms and place the bulk order.  Ordered gift cards should be received by Sunday, September 16th.  The order forms and information are on the table in the foyer outside of Fellowship Hall.  The church receives a percentage of the total sale (actual percentage depends on the specific gift cards ordered per the order form).  All forms must be submitted with a check made out to "DeBows UMC".  Please give your completed forms and checks to Sue Hayward.

FYI - Another bulk order will be placed on Sunday, November 11th, which will make the ordered gift cards available prior to the Christmas shopping season.
