August 2018

Dear <<First Name>>,

Here we are at the end of August already. Irish novelist Sara Baume wrote, “This morning, the sun endures past dawn. I realize that it is August: the summer's last stand.” May you enjoy the remainder of the season to its fullest.

How often have you dreamed, “If only this vacation spot were my actual home”. We’re happy to share the journey of our clients whose dock, boat house, and lake home needed major renovation work. The completed project is an amazing place to call home and one that warrants delight as would a year-round vacation locale! We will show you the transformation over the course of several HomeStyles Online editions. The first step in their renovation HomeStyle MasterPlan is detailed below.

If you are planning on remodeling your home this fall, you will be glad to know that the brand new Sherwin-Williams 2019 Colormix Color Forecast has recently been announced. This forecast can be a huge help as you are trying to choose colors for your home. Keep reading and enjoy the exciting color themes along with the specific vignettes.

HAPPY LABOR DAY everyone!

Sincerely,

H. Dale Contant, MCR, CRPM, UDCP

Marietta Lake House Transformed | Part I

Our Atlanta Design & Build team has received so many compliments from many of you regarding the “Raise the Roof” project featured here in our monthly eNewsletter, HomeStyles Online, and blog series last year. We’ve decided it is time to begin a series highlighting another amazing project that our team recently completed for a client that lives on a lake: a dock, boathouse, gorgeous addition and home interior renovation.

Click to watch the video and read more about the first part of the transformation:

Keep watch for ADB’s upcoming September edition of HomeStyles Online where we will display a spectacular drone video of the entire exterior landscaping and buildings. You won’t want to miss it!

ADB’s Deep Sea Fishing Trip

A few weeks ago, Dale Contant arranged for a quick 3-day road trip and deep-sea fishing expedition for our employees, their spouses, and several ADB “partners”.

The group of twenty embarked from Orange Beach, Alabama on a 10-12 hour deep sea fishing frenzy aboard the “Shady Lady”. What a marvelous adventure to be aboard this legendary custom-built sport-fishing vessel! Red snapper prevailed as the catch of the day. When they returned to shore that evening, the group’s fresh catch was cooked to their individual orders, resulting in a delicious meal for everyone. There was still plenty of remaining fillets to package and share with everyone, including those team members unable to join the whirlwind event.

Thank you, Dale, for the wonderful, satisfying experience and team-building summer fun!

Sherwin-Williams 2019 Colormix Color Trends

With the ever changing design trends, sometimes it is difficult for you to select just the right style and color that will please you when remodeling your home. You desire the look that suits your personality and also will continue to be fashionable as years go by. The annual Sherwin-Williams Colormix Color Forecast assists you in choosing color themes for your home that feel comfortable as well as expressive.

This Summer, Sherwin-Williams announced its 10th annual Colormix Color Forecast. The 42-color master palette is divided into six themes: Shapeshifter, Wanderer, Aficionado, Enthusiast, Naturalist, and Raconteur. These themes are fresh, fluid swipes of color that are key for 2019 color and design trends.

Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, developed the 2019 color trends along with the Sherwin-Williams Color Forecast team. They identified colors from free-spirited wanderers and old-world storytellers, while drawing inspiration from every corner of the globe and extending even to the cosmos. These color trends are intended to reflect human touch.

“Every color in the Color Forecast, whether alone or when combined with others, tells a different story, a different riddle or different song, similar to the honesty found only in a written journal,” explains Wadden. “Our intent was to ask ourselves, ‘If this palette were a person, what kind of person might they be?’ making it important to bring forth a forecast that is personal and aspiring, yet attainable—how all design should be.”

Shapeshifter

There are those who always seem a little ahead of their time. Visionary and creative, this palette reaches into the cosmos and returns with a whole universe of inspiration. Shapeshifter’s aesthetic is about the mystical, from the deep sea to the galaxy and everything in between and is rooted by strong geometrics and clean lines. (above)

Wanderer

This palette is for the person who will never be fenced in, who needs to soak in the endless horizons and subtle earthy tones of the high plains. Clays, caramels and browns come from canyons to worn leather and woven wool blankets of the true New West. (below left)

Aficionado

Like a bookcase of leather-bound literary classics, this pedigreed palette evokes nostalgia and timeless traditions. Copper and gold anchor merlot and gray. The tailored tones are tasteful, elegant and classic. (above right)

Enthusiast

For those who go against the grain, break the rules or are more free-spirited than the status quo, the Enthusiast palette brings maximum attitude and yet produces harmonious results. The proof is in this palette, which features bold pops of vivid blue, green and red. (below left)

Naturalist

Nature lovers can connect with the wonder of the world in full bloom. This collection’s lush, sophisticated tones poke out from the rainforest as colorful tendrils. Ranging from mushroom to passionate pink, the focus on botanicals is slightly classic, with bold details. (above right)

Raconteur

From ancient rhetoric to today’s on-screen webcasts, there is a desire and appreciation for stories and the storytellers behind them. From Africa to the New World, human origins have been translated into this rich palette that spans time. (right)
