Armadale Writers' Award - 2018
The Armadale Writers' Award is a creative writing competition which is open to adult amateur writers living in Western Australia.

The competition will run from 1 to 30 September 2018, and entries will only be accepted during this time.

Entry for this competition is online only. Works must be original prose and have a 1000 to 4000 word count.
 
The prizes are:      1st prize          $1000
                              2nd prize         $750
                              3rd prize          $500

Norman Jorgensen has been a specialist children’s bookseller for over 30 years. He has written more than a dozen of Western Australia’s bestselling and award winning books for children and young people.

Share in Norman’s knowledge of writing as he divulges tips and tricks to inspire the author within us all!

Fleur McDonald
Writing and the rural experience

Referred to as The Voice of the Outback, Fleur McDonald is an author and farmer whose bestselling novels entertain, as well as promote her agricultural community and its issues.

Promoting and celebrating women on the land, Fleur started a not-for-profit organisation, Breaking the Silence, to support women and children suffering domestic violence in remote Australia.

Join us as Fleur speaks of the rural experience and how it influences her writing.
This session is for adults.

Armadale Library now has a table top board game and card game collection. This specialised collection contains a variety of strategy and adventure games, including Carcassonne, Dixit, Pandemic, 7 Wonders, and Sushi Go! Each game has its own recommended age of player, the number of players suitable, and an approximate duration of play.

Seville Grove Library - Renovations
The Seville Grove Library is closed for renovations. It is anticipated that the library will reopen in autumn 2019.

During this time we encourage you to visit the Armadale and Kelmscott Libraries where you will see the familiar faces of the Seville Grove Library staff.
