Exciting New Sermon Series Starts this Sunday!
First, there was Unashamed...where we learned about the power of the gospel to change our lives and our relationship to God.
Then there was Unforgiven...where we examined why some people resist God's invitation to be reconciled through the gospel.
Starting this Sunday, we begin our journey through the final section of the Apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans. We're called this series Unleashed, because in it we will learn how to apply the power of the gospel to our daily lives.
Join us in our 10:45 AM service this Sunday, August 12, as we celebrate Jesus and learn how his story can empower us to live godly lives.

The Perfect Finish for a Fantastic Summer!
This year's "Game On!" VBS was a home run! We average over 100 kids present per night, with about 150 total registered. Everything ran smoothly, and we enjoyed getting to plant and nurture spiritual seeds into the lives of these kids. Did the kids have a good time? Watch the video below and judge for yourself!

Can You Believe It's Been Nine Years Already?!?!
This Sunday marks nine years since Pastor Alan Rogers began his ministry at New Salem. Wow--a lot of things have happened over the past nine years. We've seen a lot of new faces, started several new ministries, and witnessed God do some pretty amazing things within our fellowship. You're invited to join us this Sunday evening following our 6 PM service as we celebrate together through a special time of recognition in New Salem's Unity Building. Each family is asked to bring a 2 liter soft drink and a finger-food to share. Cake will be provided.
If you want to send Pastor Alan a note or a card of encouragement, look for the special basket in the main lobby of the auditorium. To God be the glory!

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth....Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building." (1 Corinthians 3:6 &8)

Here's a Great Opportunity to Invite Your Friends to Church!
Experts tell us that many unchurched people are open to the idea of visiting a church...if someone they trusted would personally invite them! Who do you know that you can invite to church?
Of course, we should be inviting people to church throughout the year. But over the next few weeks we are going to make a special point to encourage each other to invite our friends to church. Our target day is Sunday, September 9, which we have designated "Back to Church Sunday." Start praying now about who you will invite to join us on September 9. We'll even provide some special tools to help you in the next few days.
Passion for Jesus leads to compassion for people. "“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Luke 10:2)

Christmas...in August?!?!
New Salem's Children in Action invite you to celebrate Christmas with them...in August! All summer long, these kid have been learning about missions, praying for missions, and even doing missions. In addition to raising money to provide seeds & livestock to a family in Africa, our Children in Action have also adopted a missionary for whom they are collecting supplies. The requested supplies are listed on ornaments hanging on our special "Christmas in August" Tree, located in the main lobby. Please consider taking an ornament, purchasing the requested item, and bringing it to our "Christmas in August" Party on Wednesday, August 29, at 6:30 PM in New Salem's Unity Building. We'll have cookies and punch, sing Christmas carols, and pack all the supplies to be sent to our missionary. We hope you can join us!
