Postdoctoral opportunity at McGill
The Canada Research Chair in Social Statistics and Family Change at McGill is looking for a post-doctoral fellow to work on a research project examining to what extent economic experiences over the life course influence conjugal and fertility behaviours and, conversely, the effect of family trajectories on an individual's financial situation. The project is based on a unique data set matching the 2011 GSS to tax files from 1982 to 2013. Applications are accepted until a suitable candidate is found.

Comings and goings in the Network
We are pleased to welcome Andy Stone as Communications Manager of the CRDCN. Andy is coming to us with several years of experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder research partnerships such as ours. He will notably be responsible for managing our communications and reporting relationships with stakeholders at partner institutions. His expertise will be extremely valuable to the Network during this period of significant growth as a major scientific infrastructure and our transition towards a high performance computing facility. We are also very fortunate that Grant Gibson, as assistant research director, and Michelle Gauthier, as special advisor, have both accepted to stay with us for another year. Click here to know more about the team.

New datasets in the RDCs
Several datasets have been added to our data collection over the summer. We also wish to inform researchers that a longitudinal platform linking education and labour market data is currently being developed and is scheduled for release next November.

Acknowledgments for RDC-based publications
We wish to remind researchers that all RDC-based publications (e.g. scientific article, thesis, book chapter, and research report) and presentations should include an acknowledgment of the support provided by the granting councils (SSHRC, CIHR, CFI), the CRDCN, Statistics Canada and the host university. For your convenience, a draft text is proposed here (see the note to researchers).
In memoriam - It is with great sadness that we inform you that Bob McNutt, Executive Director of the CRDCN from 2010 to 2016, passed away in June. He  leaves a strong legacy both for our Network and for the Canadian academic community at large. His friend and colleague Byron Spencer wrote this tribute in recognition of his contributions.
