A Letter From The Glass City Swing Band
Dear GCSB supporters,
I would like to tell you a little bit about what's on our schedule for the remainder of the year. First off, we have a free concert in the park coming up next Sunday, August 19th at St. Clair Park. The concert will start at 6 PM. Food and baked goods will be available.
On October 20th, Swingin' With Creative Arts Therapies (SCAT) will be held at Clelian Heights School in Greensburg. This program is specifically designed for special needs children and adults and even though this program is free for the participants, you must preregister. You can do that online on our website or by mailing in the preregistration form found on our website.
If anyone would like to sponsor a participant, there is a form online that you can print and then mail to Glass City Swing Band.
GCSB's next big event will be on November 2, 2018 at the Greensburg Salem Middle School auditorium. Battle of the Sinatras will present six high school-age finalists from all over Westmoreland County. The second half of the concert will be all Sinatra. The judges for the evening will be Dr. Rod Booker and Kelli Brisbane and the audience of course. MC for the evening will be Ed Christofano! For more information visit our website or Facebook page.
For those of you who know of anyone that would like to audition, please feel free to share the information below. This is a singing contest open to all high school students in Westmoreland County. Entry applications must be received by Saturday, September 15, 2018. To find out more about the rules and application process, visit our event page for Battle of the Sinatras.
Many thanks to Hayden's Pharmacy for sponsoring this event!
Our last big concert of the year will be "A Swingin' Christmas Spectacular" on December 7, 2018 at the Greensburg Salem Middle School auditorium. The concert will begin at 7 PM. You don't want to miss this concert! You will hear holiday favorites and a little bit of The Nutcracker Suite set in the swing style with a few surprises throughout the concert.
Keep watching for updates on Friday Night Swing via our website and Facebook page.
