Youth Leader Update 16/08/18
Celebrating the Year of Youth 2018 - click HERE for more information

Dear Youth Leader,

Dear Youth Leaders,

August marks the launch of the 2019 Youth Ministry Partnership Program. This program is designed to support parish-based youth ministry. See below for more info for both parishes and youth ministers. We also would like to share with youth leaders the opportunity to understand and learn more about the Plenary Council 2020. We are holding a youth-focused event so that young people can both have their say, and experience the ‘Listening and Dialogue’ process. It is hoped that people who attend this event will then be able to host other sessions in their local parishes. Details below.

We are also very close to announcing the details about Melbourne's involvement in World Youth Day Panama... stay tuned!

God Bless,
The AOY team
Applications for the 2019 Youth Ministry Partnership Program are now open

The Youth Ministry Partnership Program supports parish-based youth ministry by linking parishes with a Youth Minister. Through the 14-month program, the Archdiocesan Office for Youth works with parishes to identify their goals for youth ministry. At the same time, the AOY works with the youth minister to provide training and support their development as a leader.

The Youth Ministry Partnership Program is ideal for parishes who:
•    Are seeking to establish youth ministry in their community
•    Are able to identify a mentor from the parish community to support the Youth Minister
•    Have the support of the parish community to invest in youth ministry

Three program options are available:
Option 1: 5 hours/week volunteer
Option 2: 10 hours/week employee
Option 3: 15 hours/week employee

For comprehensive information on the program, download the booklet HERE

To apply, download and fill in application forms. For Youth Ministers HERE or for Parishes HERE. (If filling in the PDF, we recommend you download the form to your desktop before typing in details).

Five parishes and six youth ministers participated in the 2018 Partnership Program. Read about the experience of St Macartan’s Parish in Mornington HERE
Melbourne Youth - Have Your Say!
The upcoming Plenary Council is a unique opportunity to listen to and discern what God is asking of us in our Church. Join us at an AOY Plenary Listening and Dialogue session to be held on Thursday 13 September 8-9.30pm at the Cardinal Knox Centre. This will be a chance for young people to have their say and experience the ‘Listening and Dialogue’ process so they can host other sessions in their local youth and young adult groups. Pizza available for a gold coin donation - RSVP to make sure there are enough slices! Details HERE
