HIPM Weekly Newsletter - August 15, 2018

We are so glad to reach you with our weekly newsletter.  We believe it is a great way of connecting with you in the mid of the week with the highlights of the previous weekend and to remind you on the upcoming events.

New Sermon Series: Mysteries of the Kingdom

Just started a new sermon series on the "Mysteries of the Kingdom".    Last Sunday an introductory sermon was preached.  Three different views of the Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven were presented.

  • View 1: Dispensational View
  • View 2: Realistic View (Present & Future)
  • View 3: Interchangeable View

Not to say which view is right and which view is wrong, but to learn by rightly dividing the Word of God.  The sermon was concluded saying "we belong to a kingdom that is not an earthly kingdom, but a heavenly kingdom".

Follow us in our Youtube channel to listen to the sermons on this series in the coming days.

Saturday Night Fellowship - August 18, 2018

Every 3rd Saturday evening we as friends and families along with our children get together for a time of fellowship, fun, food and eternal values. In the month of August we are planning to host the event outdoor.  Sir Sandford Fleming Park (The DIngle) seems to be a good spot where we are planning to do this event.

If you happen to be in and around Halifax, we invite you to join the event.  Click the above image to signup for the event.  We are looking forward to sharing the love of Christ with all of you.

Women's online prayer ministry

Online prayer ministry started in the year 2007.  Today it has grown to be a well established prayer ministry. Many women join together from different parts of the globe in prayer.  For many others who have restrictions to go to regular church on Sunday morning, this prayer ministry has been their church.  Anyone who participates in this prayer will not fail to notice the heavy burden God has given the intercessors to intercede for the lost.   God has been answering the prayers offered for some of the specific physical needs such as healing, financial breakthroughs, deliverance and other miracles.  We invite you to join in this prayer movement.  Each one of you has something to accomplish for God in this ministry.   Please contact our prayer coordinator  for more details.

A maximum of 17 women participated in the prayer conference during last week.  Following are some of the thoughts and meditations shared in the conference.

  • Forgiveness Matthew 6:12, 14 &15
  • Faithfulness Hebrews 3:2 & Luke 16:10
  • Guard your heart. Proverbs 4:23
  • Samaritan woman's encounter with Jesus. John 4
  • Reason for anointing everyone with Holy Spirit. Isaiah 61: 1-3

HIPM online prayer network

Balan & Joy are serving as Prayer Coordinators of the Maritime District of PAOC.  This role involves facilitating prayer with the district churches based on the prayer needs that arise from the national office and the Maritime District office.  Currently the focus has been on praying for the district initiatives, church and pastoral transitions, leadership, “Pray Every Day” prayer focus and for the global workers. In order to facilitate this prayer need, HIPM has recently started a online prayer network where anyone who is called to pray can join together to pray for the above said agenda. In order to join the prayer network or for more information, email to info@hipm.org

Don't Wait to See, Just Believe | Pastor Balan Swaminathan

Don't Wait to See, Just Believe

Following is the summary of the sermon.
• God wants us to walk by faith, not by sight
• Walking by sight will lead to deception - because our eyes deceive, ears deceive, feelings deceive and our senses are deceptive
• Walking by Faith is walking with no understanding - we don't need to know what tomorrow holds
• Walking by Faith is walking a life of prayer - only prayer reveals God's will and prayer implement God's will
• Walking by Faith is walking by not seeing - Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

Quote - " When God interacts with human beings, our feelings are stimulated. We feel goosebumps, warmth, electricity, crying, laughing, etc. There is nothing wrong. Because He is God and we are human. But these experiences never guarantee the presence or absence of God. These sensations are not to be sought after, but God alone has to be sought only through His Word."

Quote - "When we worship God our senses become sensitive to the supernatural and we get excited. Nothing wrong. But when we start looking for these excitements, we lose focus from God and certain rhythm, sequence of words or drum beats are capable of generating the same excitement. If we don't focus on God, our worship may continue, the same excitement may continue, but God may not be there."
