Humanities Amped works with students, teachers, and communities to transform public schools into collaborative learning spaces that generate grassroots action toward social justice.

Humanities Amped 2018-2019 in numbers:

• Over 200 students in 4 electives  

• 75 English Language Learners (ELLs)

• 6 Amped teachers

• Dozens of middle and high school teachers trained professionally across the district

Amped students…:

• Mentor apprentice writers in elementary and middle schools

• Produce social science research and present it at the Humanities Amped Annual Research Conference held at LSU

• Write and perform poetry

• Develop strong problem-solving and socio-emotional skills
