DiscipleKit Update - August 2018

As the UK swelters in unaccustomed heat, we do hope you have a chance to take a break. And when you grab a moment to yourself, you might like to browse through some great children’s resources in time for the next season.

The excellent Light material from SU is always trustworthy (and recently refreshed), but why not branch out into the amazing variety on DiscipleKit – we have discovered some great quality material for you, some of which is downloadable and free. There are a few favourites below, but do find more here.
GLOBALkids – Children’s Materials with a Heart for Mission

WELCOME TO GLOBAL KIDS! Our aim is: to share the Good News of salvation with children, to help children discover what God is doing around the world through the work of OM, and to enthuse children about mission and empower them to get involved through prayer and in other practical ways.
Games With A Purpose

Games with a Purpose mixes energizing, entertaining games with learning points to create an invaluable resource for working with groups aged 9 and above. Categorized around popular topics this collection of games has something to suit every situation – from games needing little or no preparation or equipment, to big, memorable games that will stay with your group for a long time. Every game is followed by suggestions for further discussion, and the index of themes makes it easy to locate the right game for any session.

Pearls, Pigs and Parties

Through the parables, Jesus taught about spiritual truths and what it means to be a part of God’s kingdom. These stories teach us to listen carefully to his word, and to love and forgive others just as God lovingly forgives all who come to him in repentance.

Go Teach: God’s Word to 5-7s

For teaching children in the early years of schooling. Each book contains the material to teach 16 Bible lessons. For each lesson it provides:
  • Clearly stated teaching and response aims
  • Thorough notes for the teacher’s preparation
  • A clear, easy-to-use lesson outline
  • A verse to learn to summarise the teaching
  • Suggested follow-up activities
Servanthood for Kids – The Life of Jesus

Christians often talk about serving others, but this concept is rarely explained in depth to children. The Bible is rich with examples of servanthood, but none greater than Jesus himself. This lesson plan will introduce the meaning of service, specifically in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
CROWNED (Elementary)

Hear ye, hear ye! Our Heavenly Father is King over everything, and since we are His children, that makes us royalty! In this series we will learn how to live like royals by having the kinds of attitudes Jesus tells us to have in Matthew 5. As we look at different kings and queens of the Bible we will see that when we have these attitudes, we will be blessed! Learning to live like royalty who depend on God means that His kingdom will belong to us!
