Hampton Blvd Farmers Market is home to nine actual farms, and the remaining 15 of the 24 vendors are small, local businesses--many of whom use local farm products in the making of their goods, thereby also supporting local farms. Where you shop makes a difference for farmers! In celebration of National Farmers Market Week, learn why your support of local farmers is needed more than ever, and why their success is important to you. Be sure to get out to market this week, and help us celebrate local food, farmers, and prosperity!

  • Brentwood Farm - pasture raised lamb and farm grown lavender--used to make their all natural skincare products, located in Suffolk

  • Full Quiver Farm - The Wilson family is happy to bring their pork, beef, chicken and eggs to you at the market, raised with organic methods and no GMOs, hormones, pesticides or herbicides, located in Suffolk
  • Hampton Roads Vineyard & Winery - family-owned with over 11 acres of vines planted in 2 vineyards, also the home of red Angus cattle and Nigerian Dwarf goats (who live in the World's Tallest Goat Tower if you want to visit and see it), located in Elberon in Surry County

  • The Flower Lady - her blossoms are grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, she also creates "garden inspired" soaps, lotions, and all manner of balms out of plant based oils, essential oils, and local beeswax, the eggs she brings to the market are from free ranged birds with access to certified organic soy free feed, located on the Portsmouth/Chesapeake border
  • The Neighborhood Harvest - a hydroponic farm that delivers lettuces, greens, herbs, microgreens, produce and even eggs, bread, Virginia-sourced milk and other specialty items--right to your doorstep, everything grown in their greenhouses is non-GMO and pesticide free, located in Suffolk
  • Veg Out Gardens - their offerings are now expanded to bring you certified organic greens and herbs, as well as tomatoes and peppers—all year-round, as they are greenhouse-grown, and they grow and sell certified organic plant seedlings for your home garden during the spring and fall planting seasons, located in Chesapeake
Thank you for your support of our farmers and local artisan food producers this week and every week!
It's been very rainy and humid, making for tough conditions to get out there and pick in the fields. But Cullipher Farm has been getting out there and getting it done every week to bring you an excellent selection of fresh vegetables and fruits. We can't wait to see what all they have this week!
NEW AT THE MARKET!  Some of you have been asking for some certified organic produce. Veg Out Gardens returns to the market this week, and they now offer a selection of certified organic produce for sale--all kinds of greens/lettuces, herbs, tomatoes and peppers! The selection of tomatoes and peppers may be small at first, as they are intended to be fall crops and are just starting to come in. But the good news is they will eventually be available year-round, as they are greenhouse-grown. Best of all, they are local! Veg Out Gardens will still be offering their certified organic plant seedlings to you during the spring and fall planting seasons, as well.
