When Pioneering Women of American Architecture launched, news of it spread quickly. The website presents a more diverse and inclusive view of architectural history at a time when the topic of empowering women has become part of the national conversation.
The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF) started research for this project in 2013 with funding from the NEA. When Cynthia Phifer Kracauer joined BWAF in 2016, she focused her energy on building a free online platform that would preserve these women’s legacies.
Strategic decision-making allowed BWAF to stretch a lean budget to cover high-quality research, writing, and web design. During this webinar, Cynthia will discuss the efficient project management, creative approaches to fundraising, and effective media relations that allowed this educational content to reach a broad audience.
Audience Q&A will follow Cynthia’s presentation. Registration is free and open to all AAO Members.
