We did it!

This time last year, the final touches were being put in place for the store to start its life in our community.  

September 30th, 2017, we cut the ribbon, and began the adventure -- the year has been a constant stream of love and support, and I am the most blessed of booksellers to be a part of your lives. 

So, let’s look forward to celebrate this beacon brought into the world by you good booklovers -- but first, the month’s events!

Thursday, September 6th
is National READ A BOOK DAY!

If that wasn’t a good enough reason to stop in on a weekday, it happens to be the shop’s angel Laura’s birthday, so yes, there will be pie.
 

Saturday, September 8th 


The 5th Annual Vintage Alley Car Show will have B Street closed during our business hours -- but, we’ll be having our usual shenanigans from 9am to 5pm!

Saturday Storytime with Aunt Kathy who will sherpa us to Voyage to Bunny Planet!

Ah, for the day that should have been… perhaps we’ll have to dine on tomatoes and tangerines…


2-3pm
Meet the B Street Writers Collective, as we commemorate their latest work, ‘What Is Love’-- there’ll be signing, if you’d like, and merriment for all!

Saturday, September 15th -- 11am

Author Smiti Anand reads her new book Angelina and the Smelly Monster -- a lovely new tribute to being brave and fostering friendship. 

We’ll have pages to color and a bit of a tea party to follow!
 
 

Saturday, September 15th -- 5:30 to 7pm  
A Private Event with Bill Owens and Geir Jordahl!

PhotoCentral and Books on B present a special weekend of events for Altamont to America: Bill Owens and the Legacy of Suburbia.

Party with the birthday boy (who is turning 80?!) as he reminisces and signs his backlist and latest masterful work.

Bonus: selections from Circle of Life by Geir Jordahl illuminate the walls of the bookstore -- come and meet the photographer!

Both of their special limited edition books will be available to purchase at this free event -- let us know if we can expect you using the link below!

Gallery Walk & Talk for Altamont to America: Bill Owens and the Legacy of Suburbia with Bill sharing stories and insights.

The exhibit for Altamont to America celebrates the work of Bill Owens for his 80th birthday and features a range of Bill’s work spanning six decades, and enhances the release of Altamont to America: Bill Owens and the Legacy of Suburbia, the catalog for the exhibition.

Storytime with Auntie Alea

Auntie Alea enthusiastically extolls our loved ones in Todd Parr’s wonderful work (and whom I wish, I wish, will visit the shop one day…), and other gems from our youngest selections from….
 
 


Yep, still a thing! Folks are censoring -- sorry, challenging -- books in bookstores, schools and libraries across this country all of the time.  

To show our support of seeking and expressing ideas, banned books will be showcased throughout the shop from Tuesday the 25th to Saturday the 29th, and receive an 18% discount on your purchase of them!
 
 

Saturday, September 29th
 
B Street will be closed for Oktoberfest and BoB will close early! Shop hours will be 9am to 1pm -- normal hours resume on Tuesday. 

Come for the fun, and stop by the shop for our short day!

Although I’m still working on the details for a Bee-Day for our B-Day (beekeepers, and gardeners, and naturalists, oh my!)… I can guarantee treats and tears, laughter and love that day.

I owe everything to you, my Books-on-Believers, and I am so happy to be your bookseller for as long as we all shall read.
