Eucharist, Collective, Play

snapshots of summer

The last few weeks have been a great snapshot of summer at Open Door as we've Gathered together to listen, pray, celebrate, worship, and play! Two Sundays ago we Gathered for a listening session, asking God: How do You see Open Door? Where do You see Open Door moving? What should we do next? (We'll talk more about what we heard at August 19th's Gathering!) This past Sunday, we Gathered to celebrate a child dedication and PLAY with a backyard BBQ/pool party.

This coming Sunday, Justin McRoberts will join us, leading songs and co-teaching with Dave around our invitation to grow together as a collective politic of Jesus-looking people. We'll also spend time praying for and commissioning our students and teachers as the school year begins!

Who are you?

everyday story

My name is Dave Kludt
I live in Pleasant Hill
My work involves guiding and leading Open Door into faithful presence in the East Bay & walking alongside people across the spectrum of life experiences!
For fun, I like to ride my bike, listen to records, hike, and find interesting ways to make coffee
One question I'm asking about myself or the world is: How can I contribute to the resurrection of neighborliness in my neighborhood?

My name is Julie Fiske
I live in Walnut Creek
My work involves Career: Helping people find their homes! Or move on from their homes! Also: Raising boys who are going to make the world better, being a wife/sister/daughter/friend, and trying to keep our house running in a happy/healthy/productive manner.
For fun, I like to be outside with people I love - hiking, biking, walking around a City, sharing a meal... basically anything outside.
One question I'm asking about myself or the world is: Who do I want to be when I grow up? :) Are my actions/words propelling me to become that person?

These stories are part of our summer series exploring Who are we? What are we doing here?  Join in & share your story here!
