Match Report: Gritty win for Division 2 - A Game of Firsts
Division 2 held its place in the four with a gritty win 12 – 8 over Brunswick. There were 6 regular players missing so on Friday night the call went out to ‘anyone who could help out’. The call was answered and this led to several firsts and highlights. Patrick Whelan (Under 17’s) made his senior debut and did really well, Angus Wood played his first game in almost 2 years and showed that he is still highly skilled and a young bloke by the name of Philip Churchward came out of retirement to stand in the cage.
The game became a lot harder and closed when Fionn Barrit injured his knee and late in the game Ethan Hausler (who had been the rock in defence) rolled his ankle meaning the defence line had to be shuffled around. During the game the improving Danny Taylor scored his first ever senior goal with a great cut and shot. Nick Barlow nor only dominated the face offs but scored a game high 5 goals while Zappa Tulloch stepped up in the last half to put the result beyond doubt. Dante Francese continued his development and was the mainstay of the backline with several scorching runs.
Overall, a great effort by the boys.

- At the time of the injury the bench officials should complete the Match Day Accident Report Form and ensure that the Team Manager passes it on to Rob Pagliaro.
- If the injured player wishes to submit an Insurance Claim, please have the player complete the “Personal Injury Report” Form in the Team Managers Kit and submit to office@lacrossevictoria.com.au
