New: Feature Request board

For the past year, you’ve been telling the Mass.gov team what features, content types, and tools will help you create the best possible web content. Your feedback has been crucial to Mass.gov’s development.

We want to make sure we do the most consequential work to improve Mass.gov. You can help by collaborating with us on the Feature Request board, where you can suggest new features, see what others have suggested, contribute use cases, and vote for your priorities.

The Feature Request board will clarify where you and other authors/editors agree (or disagree) about what would make the biggest difference for your content. It’s also a space where you can help us understand your priorities as an author/editor — which allows us to build with your use cases in mind.

Here’s a quickstart guide:

Step 1: Create a GitHub account and log in
Step 2: Head over to the Feature Request board
Step 3: Click on an issue to review, vote for, or comment on existing requests...
Step 4: ...or create your own feature request (must be logged in)

Read the detailed Feature Request board instructions.

Note: Even if you don’t want to post feature requests, you can still browse the board. It’s open to anyone.

Couldn't come to the Mass.gov authors/editors meeting? Here’s what you missed

If you couldn’t make the Mass.gov authors/editors meeting, you can still watch the recording. We covered the future of Mass.gov and reviewed the latest content types and authoring tools. You can also download the presentation.

We’re working to improve Analytics Dashboards (Beta)

Over the past weeks, you might have found that some charts in the Analytics Dashboards (Beta) didn’t load or seemed to be missing information. We are aware of these issues and are working to fix them.

The purpose of the beta phase is to fix as many bugs as possible and to make the dashboards easier to use. Please keep letting us know when you find something wrong. We want the Analytics Dashboards to be as useful and usable as possible, and we can’t do it without you.

Improved how Mass.gov pages look when printed

We’ve heard from you that it’s important for your users be able to print Mass.gov pages. To improve the printed Mass.gov page experience, we’ve updated our print style. Changes include:

  • Less whitespace
  • Contact Information is visible (even though it might be in a dropdown)
  • “Tell us what you think” survey doesn’t appear
What else is new on Mass.gov?

In addition to what’s in this newsletter, we’ve also been working hard to improve accessibility, fix bugs, and more. See the latest updates.
