Transitioning to Fall
Wow! We can't believe it's August already! This month is a shift for us into fall activities and fundraisers. We are winding down with our summer Pedal Party, as well as our Paddleboarding activities. Be sure to come join us for this month's last chance for a pedal and a paddle!
The two big fundraisers we have coming up are the 2018 Indy Give! Campaign as well as our super fun & awesome Folk'n'Flannel Festival! See below on how you can get involved and help support UpaDowna!

UpaDowna is proud to announce that we have made it into the Give! Class of 2018! We are very excited to be back in this amazing, local, fundraiser! Look for fun events and fundraisers in Nov & Dec! Take the Adventure Rx Challenge! Try a new activity, earn prizes, and score some sweet outdoor gear! Why take the challenge? UpaDowna wants to encourage you, your friends, and family to get outside and become more active in nature. Studies have shown that regular exercise helps reduce stress, maintain a healthy weight, and increase happiness!
Anyone can join, it’s easy! Here’s how:
- Grab an Adventure Rx form at one of our events, or print it out off our website here
- choose your adventure
- fill it out
- present it to a staff member at a corresponding program (by Oct. 1st) to earn a prize!
Each time you come to a new adventure, you earn a new prize!
Want to really challenge yourself? Try each activity!
After you have tried all 4 activities, you’re in the drawing for the GRAND PRIZE, amazing items from Osprey Packs and Stanley! Prizes available for one adult participant and one child participant!

Just choose "UpaDowna PP" on the membership options and enter the code specific for that week (find it on our Facebook page) to pay $5! (don't be scared off by the $200 fee, the code takes it down to $5)! It's good for 24 hours and unlimited 1.5 hour rides! (just be sure to re-lock your bike every 1.5 hours!) AUGUST
- Wed. 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th 5:30-7pm: Pedal Party @ Oskar Blues (118 N. Tejon) ALL riders must sign the 2018 waiver here. Meet at 5:30pm in the alley behind OB, ride at 6!
- Tue. 14th, 6-8pm: Climb Night @ CityROCK (21 N. Nevada Ave.)- An Intro to CityROCK and indoor climbing! All equipment, instruction, food & beverage available for a donation! Spaces limited, More info & sign up here!
- Sat. 18th, 9-11am: 3rd Saturday Adventure Hike at Black Forest Section 16 Trail.
- Sat. 18th, 12-8pm: Walls are meant for Climbing FREE Indoor climbing event at CityROCK.
- Sat. 25th, 10am-12pm: Trail Cleanup @ Chick-fil-A: Help UpaDowna take care of our adopted trail along the Greenway trail south of America the Beautiful Park! More info here! All volunteers receive a free meal/drink from Oskar Blues!
- Sun. 26th, 9am-2pm: Cleanup & SUP!: Help UpaDowna take care of our adopted Park! Come for the cleanup, stay for the SUP! More info here! All volunteers receive a free meal/drink from Oskar Blues!
