Dear Friend,

There's a lot going on at iBme!

Since June, 245 teens have attended 6 retreats around the country, and in Toronto — with 2 more taking place in August, including one in the UK!

We recently shared our first-ever digital Annual Report. In case you missed it, we invite you to take a look to find out more about the exciting work that iBme is engaged in.

WE'RE HIRING! We have a new full-time position available at our office in Concord, Massachusetts: Registrar and Communications Coordinator. If you or someone you know may be interested, please apply.

It's Summer — Time to Get Outside!

"I can almost feel my whole body exhale. The stresses and concerns that have been at the forefront of my mind for the last several weeks seem to recede."

Enjoy this uplifting post from our blog: Practicing Mindfulness in Nature, by Caitlin Standish who has worked for iBme in multiple roles — including Wilderness Logistics Coordinator.

Expanding Teen Mindfulness Programs
iBme Teacher Training Initiative
A key focus of iBme's first yearlong teacher training centered on the question: How do you adapt the iBme approach to the unique needs of the teens in a given community?

A cohort of 39 people — mindfulness teachers, lifetime educators, social workers, graduate students, college administrators, and iBme alumni — came up with a lot of good answers, and created our first-ever training curriculum.

We are thrilled by this important work and the potential impact of this initiative — and preparations are underway for our next Teacher Training!

Board Spotlight: Charisse Minerva Spencer on StoryCorps

In April of this year, NPR's Morning Edition featured iBme teacher and board member Charisse Minerva Spencer sharing with her son Myles what it was like growing up in the 1960s in Cavalier Manor, Virginia — at the time, one of the largest black suburbs in the country.

An Exciting New Partnership!
iBme, in partnership with the Ford Foundation, will be holding a Community Workshop on the Intersection of Mindfulness, Youth, and Justice in New York City in early 2019. This gathering is designed to help individuals and organizations bring Mindfulness programs to diverse communities.

Stay tuned for more information!
