Landfalls: Dedications to Alaskan Women Writers and Storytellers
How do we know, relate to, and narrate the complexities of living in the North? What words resonate with us when we talk, hear, or read about the place we call home? What sparks us to learn more, change our behavior, and show empathy towards a place and its people? These questions inspired Haines artist Katie Ione Craney to create a new series of work based on deciphering the roles of women within the literary and physical landscape. The artworks from this series, Landfalls: Dedications to Alaskan Women Writers and Storytellers, will be on exhibit in the Pratt's downstairs Art Gallery through September 4.

Memories of the Pratt
Did you know that 2018 is the 50th anniversary of when the Pratt Museum first opened its doors? As a way of marking this major milestone in Homer history, we are asking our members and visitors to share one of their fondest memories of the Pratt. Help us get the ball rolling – tell us something special to you about the Pratt in a story, poem, or even haiku that we can share with other members and visitors this summer! We plan to collect enough memories to put into a book to be presented in Spring 2019.
Please join us in helping to celebrate the Pratt’s first 50 years by telling us about a wonderful exhibit or program, an exceptional staff member or volunteer, the historic Homestead cabin, our lovely gardens and trails, or whatever says Pratt Museum to you.
You can drop off your memory at the Museum's admissions desk; send it by snail mail to 3779 Bartlett Street; submit it online; or email it to Board President Linda Rowell.
