The August edition of BizBits brings you news of the return of a well regarded mentor to our service, along with details of the expansion of our On Demand series of workshops.
We are very pleased to announce the return of popular mentor Richard Homersham as our regular business mentor from September. Richard has an extensive background in small businesses and has been part of the Box Hill Institute Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) since 2005. A business and management teacher since 2008, Richard was the recipient of the ‘Best Metropolitan BEC Mentor/Advisor Award’ at the 2015 National BEC Australia Awards for Performance. For more information on council's free mentoring service, or to arrange a free, one on one, confidential mentoring session with Richard, contact council’s Economic Development team on 9278 4814.
Another welcome addition this month is the expansion of our free on demand workshop series to include ‘Making the most of your Technology’, with Lynette Coulston of ITandCoffee. Lynette recently ran a couple of evening sessions at council and the feedback from participants made the session an easy choice for inclusion in the current suite of on demand topics. Read on to find out how you can host one of our on demand workshops in your workplace.
Also in this edition, we bring you up to date on our upcoming business event offerings, the City of Boroondara's Environment and Sustainability team offer some advice on creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly work space, we discover three local businesses Celebrating over 100 years (combined) in Burwood Village and as usual, we profile another great local business.
