News From the Bunker - August 2018

Summer's end is quickly approaching but that hasn't slowed us down one bit! Read on for updates on BookiePro's World Cup competitions, a new version of the Peerplays wallet, a recap of iGB Amsterdam, and some additional conference news.

World Cup Recap, Winners, and What’s Coming to BookiePro

It’s been a few weeks since the World Cup ended, but we’re still recovering from an exciting and action-packed month!

BookiePro.fun proved to be a successful beta launch: thousands of new website clicks, nearly 1300 registered accounts and 300 validated (per the terms of the Competitions) users, tens of thousands of bets placed, and 5 BTC paid out in prizes from early June through to the Final between France and Croatia! All said, over 400 individual payments were made. Wow!

The list of winners is too long to name everyone, but we’d like to send out a special CONGRATULATIONS to our Overall Tournament winners. These are the individuals who won the most Bitfun (BTF) over the course of World Cup 2018. They are: koschalien-3, cbgal1, metz1, valasquez3, and fognin56.

We’d also like to thank everyone who submitted feedback at the end of the tournament. Your honest answers regarding your experience using BookiePro.fun will directly impact future builds.

Coming Soon
The next couple months will see several new sports added to BookiePro.fun. English Premier League (EPL), La Liga, Serie A, and UEFA Champions League will all be showing up in time for their seasons to start. We’re also working to introduce Major League Baseball (MLB) and National Football League (NFL) in the near future.

Exciting times!

Update to Peerplays Core Wallet

The development team has been hard at work providing fixes and making improvements on the Peerplays wallet. We encourage you to download and install the most recent build, v0.1.5, by following this link or clicking the image below.

PBSA at iGB Amsterdam

Over two non-stop days in July, a few members of the PBSA team introduced our provably fair, decentralized affiliate program to thousands of individuals and organizations who attended iGB’s Affiliate Conference.

Great visibility, lots of foot traffic, and a never-been-seen-before product kept our team busy, chatting and meeting with potential affiliates and partners over the course of the conference.

Eoin Whelan, pictured above during his Introduction to BookiePro presentation at iGB L!VE, said, “This was a great opportunity to introduce our paradigm-shifting program directly to the affiliates who’ll be implementing and running it.”

Providing 20% lifetime revenue sharing and immediate, automated payments - among other benefits - the program was very well received. We’re looking forward to sharing it with the world later this year.

While in Amsterdam, BookiePro went full sports fan and gave away three SIGNED jerseys to some lucky conference attendees. Hanging in the picture above are two of the most popular and well-known international sports stars in Europe, Odell Beckham Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis. Not to be missed, displayed on the table is the signed jersey of one Cristiano Ronaldo.

Congrats to the proud new owners of these autographed gems!

Upcoming Conferences

Our not-so-new Vice President of Strategy & Partnerships, Eoin Whelan, has been extremely busy since joining PBSA a few short months ago. Among many other tasks and duties, he has been making the rounds on the conference circuit.

Representing either Peerplays, BookiePro, or PBSA depending on the conference, and sometimes all three at once, Eoin attended Blockchain Unlocked at UC Berkeley in California Monday-Wednesday of this week.

“Connecting and having conversations with both of our peers and competitors in the blockchain world is not only important to the success of the Peerplays blockchain and ecosystem, but it’s also important to the health and growth of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry as a whole,” said Whelan when asked about the event.

Some conferences on our radar for the rest of 2018 include: SiGMA in Malta, Eventus International, iGB Lisbon Affiliate Conference, and ICE Sports Betting USA.

Let us know if you’re attending one of these events. We’d love to have a chat!
