Dear Yoke Folk,
We have a culture intrigued by reality. The current television industry is built around the lives and actions of what is named "reality TV." It is rumored much of it is scripted and many of my friends working in the movie/TV industry confirm this, still this phenomenon of television shows depicting real situations draws many of us to the television at least once a week. We want to see our favorite real people's lives unfolding before our own eyes. We seek to be a witness to the human experience, whether sensationalistic or down-to-earth.
This desire to know and care for our fellow humans is the root of many of the modern world's trends: peering into each other's lives via social media, the creation of mini-towns within urban cities, green-awareness/realization of our impact on other's lives, and the "value for many" - where our purchasing decision can assist another with less means.
A meaningful life is not about being rich, being popular, being highly educated or being perfect. It is about being real, being humble, being strong and being able to share ourselves and touch the lives of others.

"Yoga" is also a means to gather with folks who value connection and the ability to be real. Of course this isn't always how it turns out, however I truly believe the intention and desire is there. Joe Charsagua prompts to consider this opportunity in this month's blog post, Is Yoga Real?
